Invitation To Inspect Builder's Work

Newcastle Herald

Saturday March 4, 2000

DUPLEX-STYLE housing by Designbuilt Hunter Valley is proving popular for the Broadmeadow company in the Port Stephens district.

A row of three, pictured top right, in Marine Drive, Fingal Bay, is an example of the company's work.

A unit in the middle, at 70 Marine Drive, will be open for public inspection from 1pm to 5pm next Saturday and Sunday.

Ms Kylie Johnson, a sales and marketing representative for Designbuilt, said this duplex was not for sale at the moment.

The open days were being held to promote similar developments the company was proposing for land it had at Fishermans Bay, Anna Bay and Fingal Bay.

Designbuilt would begin building the units in April and have them finished by Christmas.

For more information, telephone 4965-5956 or 0412 450-751. * ONE hour, from 11am until noon, has been set aside today and tomorrow for the public inspection of a new brick and tile house at 3a Pomona Place, Tanilba Bay.

Boasting various water views, the two-storey, architect-designed house is on a 550sq metre block in an area known as Sunrise Point.

The four- to five-bedroom house is on the market for $495,000 with Raine and Horne Port Stephens/Lemon Tree Passage.

An entry foyer contains a staircase and has access to the lounge and dining areas.

The kitchen, with granite benchtops, and large family room are in the rear section. They lead to a large outdoor entertainment area.

A guest powder room, laundry and large office or fifth bedroom make up the rest of the ground floor.

Upstairs are four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and an en suite and opens onto a deck with views towards the northern part of Port Stephens.

Granite-top vanities are a feature of the en suite and the main bathroom.

Included within the price are alarm and irrigation systems, an automatic door to the double garage and landscaping. * THE public response to the release last Saturday of 25 vacant residential blocks at Garden Suburb was enthusiastic.

Carlo Rossi, for the selling agency, Castle Realty Wallsend, said people had lined up on the site as early as 6.30am on Saturday ? 3 hours before sales staff arrived ? to have the first pick.

By early this week, 11 blocks priced from $108,000 to $140,000 and ranging in size from 730sq metres to 800sq metres had been sold.

Mr Rossi said three blocks were sold in the first 15 minutes.

He said the 14 unsold blocks ranged in price from $105,000 to $132,000 and in size from 650sq metres to 1225sq metres.

The agency had received more than 100 inquiries about the land, he said.

The unnamed estate, adjoining the original Forest Hill development, was developed by Qooratz Pty Ltd. It features an extension of Gymea Drive and involves three cul-de-sacs.

About half the land is flat. The rest is undulating but presents no hindrance to slab construction.
